After building a name with Industrial Re-designs for several years, I convinced 1stDibs, the leading global platform for the finest antiques and design, that my objects belong in their collection. Second-hand design platform Whoppah grew rapidly over the past year and took a liking to my objects. To add a surprising touch to their range, they wanted to include my objects in their collection. That made me an independent dealer on the platform, and as an introduction I was invited to place the large parabolic surgical lamp in their showroom for top pieces in Utrecht.
The owners of a stunning loft in the Rotterdam harbour area found me online and asked whether I could create something special with an original ceiling lamp from this former transformer factory. I found a fine standing base for the lamp, made a mounting bracket and installed a multi-colour power LED module. I recreated a weathered hammertone finish and fitted a diffuser in the shade.
At the handover, the owners also wanted a good place to display a painting. My solution was to adapt an old X-ray device, fitted with universally adjustable arms so a frame can be clamped in several ways. It was finished with a modified Dazor picture light with dimmable LED lighting.
An Industrial Re-designs Brand store dealer: De Zaak Design is found in the city of Tilburg (the Netherlands). This great old factory building is a perfect location to see the collection in-between the owners fantastic collection of new and used interior design classics and many more great taste items.
